Back To Back Parties, Tons Of Writing

twin peaks costumes

Last weekend was totally crazy for me. The festivities started on Friday night, when the girlfriend and I went to Brooklyn to attend a Twin Peaks-themed party at a large loft space above, of all things, a martial arts gym. It seemed kind of suspect, but if there’s one thing you’ve learned about me from reading this tiny little blog of mine, its that I love me some Twin Peaks. So we had to check it out.

Ultimately, the party was kind of disappointing. It turns out that the party organizers were not the biggest Twin Peaks fans, with a few of them claiming to have only started watching the show when they found out the party’s theme. It’s not the worst thing in the world to just casually know about some form of media when doing something that surrounds that media, but after mingling for an hour or so we got the feeling that there were only maybe three or four attendees other than us who had even watched the latest season.

Still, our costumes looked great, and people were having a fun time, so it all worked out. Check out our Diane and Agent Rosenfield outfits in the photo at the top of this post.

The next day, it was on to Party #2, this one held at my apartment. A friend of mine threw a trivia party two years ago at someone else’s place, but that person has since moved, and my apartment was the next best choice. It was a lot of fun, but it was the first time there were over 30 people in my apartment at one time. Also, my team didn’t come in last place, but we didn’t stray too far from last place either if you know what I mean. So…whomp whomp.

Aside from partying, I’ve been doing tons of writing. Like, tons of writing. I don’t know what my average word count is per day, but I’m guessing it would be in the range of three-to-four thousand published words each weekday, which is quite a lot. But I’m having a blast at Android Authority and am super excited to continue on my new staff writer journey!
